Liberties Training Centre was established in 1986 as a response to high youth unemployment in the local area. We deliver high-quality, QQI accredited, training programmes, designed to meet the needs of local young people, aged 16-21, which also meet labour market needs.
We’ve a holistic approach to our training; providing counselling, additional support, small classes and linking with other local agencies to ensure every young person has a chance to reach their full potential. By creating a safe space, and staying true to our core values of collaboration, growth, fun and integrity we successfully prepare young people for further education, work or apprenticeships.

The Explore Programme
On this QQI Level 4 (Leaving Certificate equivalent) course designed to give young people a chance to learn a range of vocational and life skills, to help them focus on their future and support their progression into the workplace or further education. Modules include Computer skills, Maths, Communications, Customer Service, Cookery, Careers, Office Skills, Digital Media, Personal Development, Food Hygiene and Business Calculations.

Pre-Apprentice Engineering
On this QQI Level 3 programme you will prepare for a career in a trade or in the manufacturing e.g. fitter, mechanical, electrical, plumbing or welding apprenticeships, or fabrication. Modules include Arc & Gas Welding, 4-stroke engine maintenance, Workshop Skills, Computer Literacy and Maths.

Pre-Apprentice Woodwork
On this QQI Level 3 programme you will prepare for a career in a trade or in the construction industry e.g. roofer, joiner or an apprenticeship. Modules include Woodwork, Woodcraft, Wood-turning, Word Processing and Maths.
